Hair Restoration Surgery
Follicular Unit Transplant
Used for the top of the head needing more dense filling, larger areas, or where fine hair placement is necessary (direct view – hairlines or front of scalp). Traditional FUT involves removing a strip of hair from the back of the head, then dissecting the hairs and individually placing them into the areas of thinning hair. A line scar is present on the back of the head which is easily covered by hair.
Follicular Unit Extraction
Hairs are removed individually, so little dissection is needed. Hair is placed into the areas of thinning. There is no line scar on the back of the head with this procedure. Small round scars are sometimes visible, but they are generally inconspicuous – this is a good option if you want to wear your hair short.
Punch Graft
Punch graft transplant is done for areas needing improved hair density/bulk on the crown of the head or for small areas not in direct view. Hairs are removed as a 4mm plug and placed in the affected area. May require filling-in with single unit hair transplant at a later date depending on desired end result.
Platelet Rich Plasma
1-2 treatments/year
The body has a built-in ability to heal itself. Natural healing factors circulate in low levels in the bloodstream and are released in concentrated form only in wounded areas. Platelet Rich Plasma injections harness the body’s innate healing power by drawing a sample of blood, concentrating the healing factors, and reinjecting the healing factors to the affected areas of the scalp to help regrow hair.
Low Level Laser Therapy
Twice weekly (30 minute treatment)
Increases circulation to help hair follicles grow to their proper size and produce thicker, healthier hairs.
Dermoscopy
Hand held magnification to follow scalp health and scalp level hair density
Hair Check
Hair density measurement device – helps to track improvement in hair density along the length (used along with photography).
Radiesse
$500/Syringe
Radiesse is a dermal wrinkle filler that is used to correct and smooth out areas of the face that have lost collagen due to the normal aging process and have unsightly lines. The new age of dermal fillers are well advanced beyond the original collagen preparations that were used in the past. Radiesse is composed of calcium-based microspheres suspended in a water-based gel.
Radiesse is long-lasting, and is known for giving a result that looks and feels natural. It is used to correct lines around the mouth, and etched-in lines on the cheeks.
Typically, dermal fillers are absorbed by the body in several months, and have to be re-injected. Radiesse also requires follow-up treatments, but its effects can last 12-15 months because the Radiesse product itself provides immediate filling of the affected area, but it also stimulates collagen formation by the body.
The new collagen will remain in the skin after the Radiesse has been absorbed, prolonging the visible correction. It has no significant association with allergic reactions. It can be used in combination with other fillers, and causes minimal bruising.
Botox
$300-$450 per treatment area
Muscles responsible for facial expression can cause accentuation of facial lines. This usually occurs on the forehead, nose, and around the eyes. Botox cosmetic is a purified bacterial protein which reduces the activity of the muscles that cause lines between the brows and around the eyes to form. Botox is administered as an injection and can last for several months.
Microdermabrasion
$120/treatment, $600/six treatment
Microdermabrasion is a surface peeling of the skin done with fine crystals and precisely delivered gentle suction. It is used for acne, fine wrinkles and discoloration of skin. It also works for pitted scars. There is virtually no down-time. The treatments are repeated every 2-3 weeks until the desired result is achieved.
Laser Hair Removal
$150-$300 per treatment area
The Neodynium:YAG (Nd:YAG) laser targets pigment within hairs and gently removes them, putting an end to routine having and waxing. Hair may not re-grow for several years after treatment. The treatments require no sedation, and only topical anesthesia, if desired.
Laser Tattoo Removal
Consultation required for pricing information
Unwanted tattoos can often be treated by laser. The treatments have a good success rate and are repeated every several weeks until the unwanted pigmentation is resolved.
